GENEALOGY & LOCAL HISTORY ANNEX |
On August 14, 1996, the Genealogy and Local History Annex of the Muhlenberg County Public Libraries officially opened its doors. The Annex contains all of the research material relating to genealogy and local history formerly held at the Central City and Harbin Memorial Libraries and is conveniently located across from the Courthouse on Main Street in Greenville.

- Large microfilm collection of census records, marriages, deed and mortgage books.
- Leader-News and Times-Argus newspapers on Microfilm (1934 to the present plus 1926 -1927 Central City Argus microfilm)
- Books on English and Irish genealogy for Virginia and the Carolinas.
- Extensive vertical files containing family records, research notes, newspaper clippings and pamphlets pertaining to towns, businesses and citizens of the area.
- Church histories including clippings and photographs.
- Cemetery records (4 Books).
- Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Civil War, World War I & World War II Info.
- 1920 Muhlenberg County Census Book.
- Kentucky Death Certificates (1911 - 1956).
- Public access computer for genealogical research.
- Births/Deaths Information for Kentucky (1911 - 1999) on CD-ROM.
- Historical Photographs compiled by Thomas S. Brizendine CLICK HERE to view selected pictures.
- CD-Rom of 23,000 plus photographs available at the Annex.
